Lateralus is a message about transcendence of the soul. Even if this may not be the real interpretation, to listen to this album in its entirety is to discover something mysterious within it that compells you. It is arguably the best Tool album and flows like few albums can. The deviation from traditional rock rhythms makes the music less accessible.
